Surf & Sand is situated at the scenic shores of Ohope Beach and Ohiwa Harbour at the end of Ohope's Harbour Road. It is only a 15 minute drive from Whakatane and about 30 minutes from Opotiki. Tauranga and Rotorua are just over an hour's drive away. Whakatane Airport is situated less than half an hour from Ohope.
How to get here:
Driving from the North:
From Tauranga or Rotorua, follow the State Highway all the way to Whakatane . Follow the signs to Town Centre until you see road signs for Opotiki and Ohope. Follow the road to Ohope Road, turn right into Pohutukawa Avenue at the bottom of the Ohope hill. Bear left and take the turn into Harbour Road. At 361 Harbour Road you will find Surf & Sand on your left.
Driving from the South:
Drive through Opotiki Township and along Waiotahi Beach. Follow the road that leads to Whakatane and Ohope. Just 200m passed the Ohiwa Oyster Farm you turn right into Harbour Road. You will find Surf & Sand at 361 Harbour Road on your left hand side.
